Changing or cancelling an appointment

Please tell us as soon as possible so that we can give your appointment to another patient.

What to expect at your appointment

You will see a physiotherapist and a psychologist who will assess whether one of our pain management programmes is suitable for you, or whether another service is more suitable for your needs.

Wherever possible, we will make a clear plan about what will happen next together with you at your appointment. After your appointment, we will write to yourself, your GP and your referrer with a summary of the appointment and plan.

Please allow up to two hours for the appointment and please arrive promptly. Please bring with you a list of any medication or herbal remedies you are taking. If you require glasses for reading, please bring them with you.

Students and observers

As this is a teaching hospital, students or observers may be present at your appointment.

Please let us know if you do not want them to be present or involved in your care. It will not affect your care in any way.

Students supervised by qualified staff might be involved in your care. It is valuable training for students and does not affect the quality of your treatment in any way, but please tell us if you do not want them to be present or involved. We will always respect your wishes.
