Who can be referred
Pain management will accept adults (18 years and over) with chronic pain (over three months) that is refractory to standard analgesia or interventions by other specialties.
This includes pain stemming from rheumatological, orthopaedic, gynaecological, haematological and neurological conditions. Also chronic pain following surgery and of unknown aetiology.
How to refer
NHS GP referrals
All NHS GP referrals must be submitted through the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS). Referrals sent by email or post from NHS GPs will not be processed.
Should you require advice about a patient, please use the advice and guidance facility through e-RS.
