This clinic is for people who have already been referred by their healthcare team.
It is run by specialist nurses and physiotherapists who offer advice and support to help you manage your symptoms.
We may need to examine you. We will let you know if we need to and what this will involve. We may also ask you to see your GP for a review of any medicines that may be affecting your bowel.
We will see you regularly and we'll expect you to follow the advice and exercises we give you between appointments.
We'll send a detailed report to your doctor.
Who the service is for
We support people with:
- bowel incontinence
- constipation
- irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- anal muscle weakness
- anal pain
- lower urinary tract symptoms
- pelvic organ prolapse
What we offer
We provide:
- education on how the digestive system works
- advice on diet, fluids, toilet positioning and stress management
- pelvic floor and anal strengthening exercises
- rectal irrigation
- support with using suppositories, enemas and Loperamide
