How do I get an appointment?
You can be referred by a health professional or you can refer yourself.
Stop smoking advice and support via your local pharmacy
There are NHS trained stop smoking advisors in community pharmacies across Lambeth and Southwark. These services can be accessed directly.
Due to COVID-19 not all pharmacies are providing a service. Please ring your local pharmacy for information.

What to expect at your appointment
You do not need to bring anything with you before your appointment.
Many people find that sharing their experience with others is helpful. When you join we'll get you working with a trained advisor, either in a group or one-to-one. You will not be expected to quit at the first session. The stop smoking specialist will work with you to agree a quit date within the first two weeks of your initial assessment.
The stop smoking support provided will include:
- free expert advice and friendly support for twelve weeks
- an assessment of your level of addiction and advice on the best treatments to help you quit
- ongoing monitoring and supply of your chosen stop smoking medication
- motivational tips to help you stay on track
- a weekly carbon monoxide reading to monitor your progress.
-
After your appointment
Follow up appointments will be arranged by the advisor after each session.
