Virtual fracture clinic

Phone: 020 7188 9011

We answer the phone Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

The emergency department (ED) or urgent care centre (UCC) will book you into the virtual fracture clinic.

Please make sure we have your up to date contact details before leaving the hospital.

We'll call you on the day of the virtual fracture clinic between 2pm and 5pm to discuss your treatment. This could be up to 3 days after you were seen in the emergency department or urgent care centre. Please be aware the call may come from an unknown or private number.

If you're not available, we will leave a voicemail. We'll make 2 attempts to call you.

The orthopaedic team will look at your X-rays and notes to decide on the best treatment for your injury.

We may advise:

  • an urgent review. This may be because further physical assessment is needed or we need to change your treatment plan or you may need surgery
  • further investigations such as an MRI or CT scan. We'll talk about these during your phone call and book a follow-up appointment after you've had the scan to discuss a treatment plan for you
  • a follow-up appointment at our fracture clinic
  • physiotherapy. The physiotherapy department will contact you to book an appointment
  • discharge. We'll call you with advice about treatment, rehabilitation, expected outcomes and how to get help if you have any problems

After your telephone appointment we'll send you and your GP a letter explaining the outcome of the assessment.
