Overview

Ultrasonic angiology

Our ultrasonic angiology service was set up in 1976.

We use ultrasound to look at your blood vessels. We record images of the vessels that connect to the brain, kidneys, upper and lower limbs. This information helps diagnose and treat vascular conditions.

We provide services for:

  • inpatients
  • outpatient clinics
  • surgical theatres

We also provide services in outreach clinics at:

  • Darent Valley
  • Queen Mary’s Sidcup
  • Tunbridge Wells
  • Great Ormond Street Hospitals

We also run surveillance programmes. These check your vascular condition either after surgery or to monitor your vascular status. Your consultant will request surveillance if it is needed.

Research and clinical trials

Research is vital to improving the care that you receive when you're unwell. You can help improve healthcare by taking part in research studies at our Trust. During your appointment, ask your healthcare professional about research. They'll be happy to tell you about research studies you could be eligible to join.
