Referrals
How to submit a referral
Non-e-RS referrals
In line with NHS England's Digital First approach, we encourage all external non-e-RS referrals to be submitted digitally.
Digital referrals help reduce delays, improve traceability, minimise the risk of lost or incomplete information, and support safer patient care.
Please submit referrals by email to [email protected].
We accept referrals from GPs and other health professionals. Patients can also self-refer to our service.
Self-referrals
Please call 020 7188 2815 to discuss referrals with a member of the team.
GPs and health professionals
Please complete the south east London HIV referral form and email it to [email protected].
The form is also available on EMIS.
New patients will be offered an appointment with our health adviser or nurses within 2 to 4 days.
We encourage patients to give permission for us to communicate with their GPs.
If we see a patient you have referred to us, we'll let you know when your patient is booked to see us. You should receive a letter after they have had their appointment. Please contact us for any further information.
For existing patients, we'll write to their GPs at least once a year, or if any changes are made to their care plan or medicines.
GPs and other health professionals can contact our medical secretaries with:
- clinical questions
- questions about HIV drugs and interactions
- information or questions about testing your patients or giving positive HIV results to your patients
