We are improving green spaces across our sites to support patient recovery, staff wellbeing and the environment.
Spending time in nature can:
- help with recovery
- reduce stress and improve wellbeing
- help you feel calmer and less anxious
At Lambeth Community Centre, an award-winning gardening project is helping people recovering from amputation to rebuild their strength and confidence. It also supports their mental wellbeing.
At Harefield Hospital, patients, staff and visitors are using the Healing Garden as a calm space to pause, reflect and recharge.
How to get involved
We're working to make these kinds of opportunities available to more people across the Trust. This is part of a national programme led by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare.
Our senior nature recovery ranger runs nature-based activities for patients, staff and visitors, helping more people benefit from time outdoors. This role is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
