Innovation Hub – level I
The care we provide at Guy’s Cancer is driven by leading research, which takes place throughout the Cancer Centre. To support this research, we have a state-of-the art research facility, which includes laboratories and biobanking in the Innovation Hub.
Research and clinical trials
Reseach being carried out in the dermatology lab.Clinical trials have the potential to revolutionise the way we care for people with cancer. Working closely with King's College London, we run up to 150 oncology and haematology clinical trials at any one time. We are looking to find ways to improve the cancer treatments currently available, and some of which will go on to become the cancer treatments of the future.
When you see your consultant, they may discuss any available clinical trials for your type of cancer. It will not affect your treatment in any way if you decide not to participate. If you would like to find out more, please discuss this with your oncologist or email our dedicated trials team at email@example.com.
When you visit the Cancer Centre, you may be asked to donate a little extra blood for research. Or, if you have a small biopsy or surgery as part of treatment, you may be asked if a sample of tissue can be retained by the research team and stored in our cancer biobank to help with future research.
Your support for these research activities is greatly valued. However, you are in no way obliged to do this and your treatment will not be affected by your decision.
