Information and location details of the clinics at Guy's and St Thomas'.
Adult Acute Dental Centre
- Doors open: 7.45am
- Clinic opens: 8.30am
This clinic is for urgent dental care only and is usually full by 9am.
We are able to treat a limited amount of patients per day so please arrive before 3pm. If you are suitable for treatment in the Acute Dental Centre and spaces are still available, you will be given an appointment time. Please note that there may still be up to a four hour wait depending on how many patients and the types of emergencies on the day.
If we reach capacity we will stop accepting patients but exceptions can be made (at the discretion of the clinician in charge) for patients presenting with the following symptoms:
- Major facial swelling
- Severe trauma (excluding broken fillings or teeth)
- Uncontrollable bleeding
Unfortunately we do not provide an out-of-hours acute dental service. If we are unable to see you and the nature of your concern is urgent please contact NHS 111.
Please bring a list of your medication(s) when visiting so our clinicians are able to properly assess you and provide appropriate treatment and/or analgesia (if required).
If English is not your first language please be advised that you will need to be accompanied by someone who will be able to translate on your behalf.
If a tooth extraction is required you will require a translator before this can be performed.
