Healthy weight programmes
We run 2 healthy weight programmes.
1-year programme in south east London (tier 3)
Our south east London weight management programme is an intensive 1-year course.
This is known as a tier 3 weight management programme. It is for people who are severely overweight and registered with a GP in Bexley, Bromley, Lambeth, Lewisham or Southwark.
The programme includes nutrition education and advice about:
- changing your eating behaviour
- mindful eating, helping you to be more aware of how you feel when you eat
- goal setting
- psychology
- exercise
There is a choice of 2 group programmes:
- balance
- fast
The balance programme aims for slow, steady weight loss.
The fast programme aims for greater weight loss within the first 3 months. You take in 800 calories a day for 3 months under medical supervision. Healthy eating is reintroduced in months 4 to 6. There are follow-ups for another 6 months.
12-week programme in Southwark (tier 2)
This online programme lasts for 12 weeks. The aim is for sustained weight loss by making lifestyle changes. This is known as a tier 2 weight management programme.
It is for people with a body mass index (BMI) above 30 and registered with a GP in Southwark.
