Appointments

Parkinson's disease

Your appointment

We offer appointments to outpatients and inpatients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.

For inpatients, our daily neurology consulting service can review and advise on your care.

People with Parkinson's disease who are admitted to our hospitals should expect to have their medication on time and at the correct dose. If they're admitted for surgery, this may mean they are placed early on the operating list.

We also work with the POPS team (proactive care of older people who are going to have operations) to assess older people with Parkinson's disease before surgery. This can help to identify any special care needs and involve the Parkinson's nurse if necessary.

How to get an appointment

We accept referrals from GPs and other hospital specialists.

During your appointment

The length of your appointment depends on who you see and what you talk about.

  • New patient appointments with Dr Thomasin Andrews take about 30 minutes.
  • New patient appointments with our neuropsychiatrist take 1 to 2 hours.

Appointments with our Parkinson's nurse can take up to 1 hour.
