Coronavirus: pre-implantation genetic diagnosis service

Latest update: 18 May 2020

The pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) service are delighted to announce that following approval from the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA, the Government regulator for fertility clinics and research centres), we resumed fertility treatment services on Monday 18 May.

Our main priority remains the safety of patients and staff. Therefore, we have put in place measures to maintain social distancing and reduce the number of patients in the clinic through the use of virtual (remote) consultations and by increasing the time between appointments.

Before attending the clinic, we will take you through a short health questionnaire. We have introduced screens at reception areas and are cleaning the clinic more often. When you are in the clinic, you will be asked to wear a face covering. We have implemented social distancing in the waiting area, you will be advised on where to wait.

Partners are being asked not to attend the clinic unless required during treatment. Please understand these measures are to keep you and our staff safe by reducing the risk of spreading infection.

We are currently in the process of contacting patients in order to start treatment. Please bear with us until we contact you to offer you treatment. We understand the wait will have been very difficult and are committed to seeing each of our patients as soon as we possibly can.

If you have any queries, you can contact us by emailing ivf.info@gstt.nhs.uk or ivf.nurses@gstt.nhs.uk.
