Overview

Skin allergies

We offer testing to diagnose skin allergy conditions.

This includes:

  • patch testing, to find out if you have an allergy to a substance that has been in contact with your skin
  • photopatch testing, used to investigate allergies that are caused or made worse by sun exposure (photosensitivity)
  • repeated open application testing, this to mimic real life exposures

We're an internationally recognised centre of excellence for the environmental causes of skin diseases. Our testing procedures conform to European guidelines.

Research and clinical trials

Research is vital to improving the care that you receive when you're unwell. You can help improve healthcare by taking part in research studies at our Trust. During your appointment, ask your healthcare professional about research. They'll be happy to tell you about research studies you could be eligible to join.

You can also email [email protected] for more information.
