How to get an appointment

You can ask your GP or other health professional to refer you. You can also refer yourself for an appointment.

Before your appointment

We'll contact you to book an appointment and explain the appointment process.

During your appointment

Your first appointment will normally last 45 minutes, although it may be longer.

If your appointment is at your home, we'll introduce ourselves to you and show you our ID.

At your appointment we'll talk about your needs and goals to provide a rehabilitation programme that works for you.

You may speak to 2 therapists at your appointment.

We're a teaching hospital and sometimes we'll ask if students can watch your appointment. It will not affect your care if you prefer not to have them there.

After your appointment

We'll discuss your ongoing needs and agree a plan with you. This will be tailored to you to suit your needs.
