What do they do if you haven’t received an appointment yet
Please call the team you are expecting an appointment with, leaving your name and contact phone number. We will endeavour to call you back as soon as possible.
-
How to change/cancel your appointment
Please call the team you have an appointment with and inform them that you are unable to attend. It is useful for us to know why you cannot attend, as this will help us when rebooking your appointment.
-
What should you bring to the appointment?
Please bring suitable clothing which are loose and easy to put on/ remove.
You may wish to wear shorts and a t-shirt or bring them with you to change into.
The Women’s Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) sell sandwiches and drinks. Opening hours vary. We advise you to bring any food, drink or medication you may require during your appointment, as you may be at the centre for a long time.
If you are diabetic, please bring your sugar level monitoring kit with you.
-
What to expect at your appointment
You may see one member of staff but sometimes you will benefit from seeing other members of staff within the same appointment. This is to make sure you get the right care and treatment.
The team consists of a consultant, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, counsellors and prosthetists. Each appointment is different but the staff member seeing you will carry out an assessment before any treatment begins. You will have the opportunity to discuss what your aims and expectations are and set goals with the staff. The number of appointments you need and how often they will be will vary from patient to patient.
-
After your appointment
The staff member treating you will inform you when your next appointment will be and advise you if there are any exercises you should do before your next appointment.
