We offer telephone or face-to-face appointments.

How to get an appointment

You'll usually be referred by a specialist in our advanced kidney care service.

Changing or cancelling your appointment

Before your appointment

If you check your blood sugars and blood pressure at home, please bring a record of this with you.

If you're having a telephone appointment, you need to have blood tests and a blood pressure check in the week before the appointment. You can arrange these using the DrDoctor website or call:

  • 020 7188 8820 for Guy's Hospital
  • 020 8068 0500 for Sidcup kidney treatment centre
  • 0207 188 0842 for Tunbridge Wells kidney treatment centre

Please bring:

  • a list of medications you take
  • any recent letters from other specialists involved in your care

During your appointment

A specialist nurse will see you. Your first appointment usually lasts around 1 hour. Follow-up appointments usually last around 30 minutes.

At the appointment, we'll discuss your health, medicines and care plans with you.

We'll arrange a follow-up appointment before you leave the clinic.

After your appointment

We'll write to your GP and any other specialists involved in your care about the consultation. We'll send a copy of this letter to you. The letter will include any changes to your medicines and discussions about your treatment and care.
