IIH physiotherapy education session
Neuro-rehabilitation physiotherapy
Idiopathic intracranial hypotension (IIH) is a build up of pressure in the head. It can lead to headaches and can affect your vision.
The cause of IIH is unknown, however it is closely linked with being overweight.
The idiopathic intracranial hypotension (IIH) physiotherapy education session aims to help you with your weight loss.
If you'd like to attend the session, please ask your eye clinic doctor to refer you.
The session takes place on the first Thursday of each month from 5pm to 6pm.
Before the session
Please complete our 2 short online questionnaires. They'll let us know how to support you better.
You'll receive a text message before the session with a link to join the video.
During the session
It is a 1-hour virtual group session about the role of physical activity to support weight loss. This includes a:
- 15-minute presentation from a physiotherapist
- 45-minute question and answer session
You're welcome to come to more than 1 session, but most people only attend once.
After the session
We recommend you continue to try to incorporate the advice provided into your daily lifestyle.
If you feel you need more 1-to-1 advice with the physiotherapist, please speak with your consultant who can refer you.
