Check your appointment details carefully before you travel, including which hospital or health centre you need to go to. Give yourself plenty of time to find your way to your appointment when you arrive.
Using public transport
We recommend using public transport as parking is limited. Use the Transport for London journey planner to find the best route.
Disabled parking bays are limited but they are available if you are a Blue Badge holder and have an appointment on the day. This is on a on a first come, first serve basis. Enter the car park from Crosby Row.
There’s a NCP car park at the junction of Snowsfields and Kipling Street which is a 5-minute walk from the hospital. Charges are displayed at the entrance.
Remember, Guy’s Hospital is in the Congestion Charging zone and the Ultra Low Emission Zone so please check how to pay before you visit.
A phone for calling taxis is located in the main entrance. It’s mounted on the wall opposite the Borough Wing (green zone) entrance.
We have bicycle racks on the right of the car parking area outside main reception, and outside Counting House on Great Maze Pond. These are covered by CCTV.
The secure bicycle cages are for Guy's and St Thomas' staff only.
Finding your way at Guy’s Hospital
Give yourself plenty of time to find your way to your appointment. The location of your appointment is on your text message reminder, MyChart app or letter. You can also look up information about the service, including the location and contact details.
If you need help, ask our receptionists, volunteers or any member of staff wearing a yellow name badge.

- When you get to the hospital, look up the wing you need to go to using the directory in the main entrance. Wings are colour-coded
- When you get to the wing, find the lifts or stairs you need using the directory outside the wing entrance. Lifts and stairs are labelled with a letter (A, B, C, D...)
- At the lift or stairs, check the floor you need to go to using the directory in the lift or stair lobby. Floors are numbered (1, 2, 3...)
- On the correct floor, look out for signs on the wall and follow them to your appointment.
If you’re sent to another wing for tests or treatment, it's best to go back to the ground floor to find your way there.

Guide dogs can accompany you during your visit. Please call the number on your appointment letter to give clinic staff as much notice as possible so they can accommodate this.

You can wear one of our sunflower lanyards if you have a hidden disability and want to let us know you might need some extra help. They're available at the main reception.
Accommodation
Counting House Lodge at Guy's is currently closed but we have alternative accommodation at Gassiot House.
Gassiot House Lodge is located at St Thomas' Hospital. It provides rooms which can be booked on a nightly basis by patients, or their relatives, carers and visitors.
The rooms are designed to provide a non-clinical, safe and relaxing environment close to our hospital buildings.
Rooms can be booked on a nightly basis. They cost £75 per night for a single room and £90 per night for a twin room.
