Guy’s Cancer is the new name for cancer care at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
A new home for cancer care
Alongside many of our patients, I have been involved in the development of the new Cancer Centre for over a decade. It’s been a long journey. Now we can welcome patients and their families to a new, state-of-the-art building, designed around their needs.
The new Cancer Centre is a place of inspiration for patients and staff alike. For patients, the centre brings most cancer treatment and care under one roof, helping us to minimise unnecessary waits.
For staff, the new building will help teams to work more closely together, with access to the cutting-edge equipment we need to deliver 21st century cancer care.
As clinical director of Guy’s Cancer, I am honoured to lead a team that is dedicated to providing the best possible care for our patients.
Guy’s Cancer is home to some of the best cancer specialists in the country. The new Cancer Centre will inspire us all to innovate, explore and develop better ways to treat and care for patients.
It also gives us the opportunity to work much more closely with research partners. Through Innovation Hub, researchers from King’s College London will work with clinicians to push the boundaries of cancer medicine.
Beacon of excellence
I hope that the new Cancer Centre will become a beacon of excellence in cancer care and inspire us to provide the very best cancer care to patients from south east London, across the UK and further afield.
