Getting referred to us

If you are referred to our cancer services, you will be seen by some of the leading experts in the field, supported by highly experienced teams who will give you the latest available care.

Some of our patients are referred to us for tests to find out whether they have cancer, while others have already started their cancer treatment and come to us for just one specialist part of their care.

If you are coming to us to find out whether you have cancer, this can be a worrying time for you and for your friends and family. Most people who come to us for a diagnosis are told that they do not have cancer. But if the tests do reveal cancer, you will immediately be fast-tracked to our expert teams who will make sure you have the treatment, information, practical help and psychological support that you and your loved ones need.

If your GP has referred you and you do not receive an appointment within two weeks, please contact us on 020 7188 0902.

Your choice

The government says you have the right to choose where to go for healthcare. If your GP is referring you to a cancer specialist, you can ask them to refer you to Guy’s and St Thomas’, wherever in the country you live.
