Overview

Dental sedation and special care

We offer dental treatment if you have a condition that makes it difficult to access dental care in general practices and the community.

If you have anxiety and fear of the dentist, we can offer different ways for you to have sedation to help overcome this. Not all types of sedation are suitable for everyone.

We'll give you an assessment appointment with a dentist to discuss different options and help you decide on the best option.

You generally have 1 course of treatment. Depending on capacity this might be 1 item of urgent treatment.

We have limited access to general anaesthesia for treatment and for seeing you if you need to be transported by stretcher.

We do not normally provide:

  • long-term care
  • periodontal management
  • advanced restorative or endodontic treatment
  • dentures
  • testing or routine treatment if you have suspected or confirmed allergy to local anaesthesia or latex
