About the clinic
At our endometriosis clinic, we offer you supported and integrated care, provided by a 'multidisciplinary' team of gynaecologists, a nurse specialist, laparoscopic bowel surgeons and urologists. We also work closely with the pain management team.
Our consultants are expert in the management of all stages of endometriosis, including the most complex surgical techniques. You will be involved in all decisions about your care, and your treatment plans will always be based on what is right for you and your needs.
Our nurse specialist runs a weekly clinic as well as telephone consultations, and is available to provide you with ongoing support as well as monitoring the impact of your symptoms on your quality of life for up to two years following surgery.
We also run a monthly support group run with volunteers from Endometriosis UK.
How do I get an appointment?
We accept referrals from GPs.
GPs wishing to refer a patient should contact Professor Janice Rymer or Mr Kumar Kunde:
Changing or cancelling your appointment
To change or cancel your appointment, please call the appointments line on 020 7188 0543 (option four).
Before your appointment
It is helpful to bring to your appointment any details you have about treatment or investigations you have had for your endometriosis at other hospitals or with your GP.
Also please bring with you any questions you have about your condition and management; some people find it useful to write these down before you come so you don't forget to ask during the appointment.
After your appointment
After your appointment, the clinical nurse specialist will provide you with ongoing support. The charity Endometriosis UK also provides information and support online and via its helpline: 0808 808 2227.
We run a monthly support group at Guy's Hospital with Endometriosis UK. More information is on the Endometriosis UK website.
