Our future

Our organisation

Guy's, St Thomas', Evelina London, Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals all have long histories of first class care, ground breaking research, innovation and teaching.

As part of one of the biggest ongoing investment programmes in the NHS, we always have a number of exciting projects in hand to keep us at the forefront of healthcare developments and provide our communities with world-leading care.

Apollo is our name for an ambitious programme to introduce Epic, a leading electronic patient records system, across all our hospitals, community services and at King's College Hospital.

Epic launched on 5 October 2023 and will transform the way that we work by replacing our historic IT systems and paper records.

Epic will allow everyone involved in a patient's care to have access to their records, whether in hospital, in a community clinic, or at home. This will give staff a complete overview of patients' care, allowing them to work more efficiently and have more time to spend with patients.

Our app for patients, MyChart, launched alongside Epic. MyChart can be used on a mobile, tablet or computer so that patients can securely and easily access their health records, giving them more control over their care.

Epic and other healthcare applications are used in some of the best hospitals around the world, as well as in the UK. It has been implemented in Cambridge University Hospitals, University College London Hospitals, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and Royal Devon and Exeter.

CITI is our Centre for Innovation, Transformation and Improvement. Through CITI we aim to deliver better, faster, fairer healthcare to our patients, our communities and the wider world.
