Coronavirus: inherited cardiac conditions service update
In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, please read our advice and information before attending the service.
We offer a one-stop clinic for diagnosis, management, clinical screening, genetic counselling and genetic testing for inherited cardiac conditions.
Clinic locations
Clinics
When you come to clinic, please bring a list of medications and as much information about your family as possible.
Please also note that we may need to perform several investigations and that you will be seen by both the genetics team and cardiology doctors. Therefore please be prepared to allow the whole morning for your appointment (or the whole afternoon if your appointment is in the afternoon).
Clinics may run later than expected and investigations may be requested on the day of the appointment which means coming earlier than your allocated clinic time. Please allow at least two hours for outpatient consultations.

Outreach ICC clinics
As part of the British Heart Foundation Miles Frost Fund project, we have developed a partnership with our colleagues in hospitals in the south east to offer outreach ICC clinics. This is to facilitate a smoother pathway for screening and testing of ICC conditions. There will be a consultant-led clinic at least once a month in the following hospitals:
- Darent Valley Hospital – Dr Peter Kabunga
- Maidstone Hospital – Dr Laurence Nunn
- Princess Royal University Hospital – Dr Mohammad Albarjas
- Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich – Dr Shoaib Hamid
- Croydon University Hospital – Dr Teresa Castiello
Soraya Nuthoo, BHF Miles Frost Fund nurse works with the consultants to offer cardiac genetics support in these clinics.
We also have close links with our colleagues at Evelina London Children’s Hospital to facilitate appointments for children’s services.
