At Guy’s and St Thomas’, we are committed to providing information that is clear and reliable. We understand that you want honest advice that you can trust, which is why our information is developed by both healthcare experts and patients themselves.
We have recently been awarded the PIF TICK – the Trusted Information Creator Kitemark. This accreditation is a UK-wide scheme and is given to organisations who have strong, rigorous processes when developing patient resources. It replaces the Information Standard which disbanded in 2019. We are proud to be among the first group of organisations to pilot and join the new scheme.
To be awarded the PIF TICK an organisation must undergo an assessment to show its production process meets 10 criteria. This means you can be assured that what you are reading, watching or listening to is evidence-based, understandable, jargon-free, up-to-date and produced to the best possible standard.
Beyond our production processes, we believe that patients should be at the heart of any information. This means we prioritise our patients’ needs – consulting with them to make sure that the tone is sensitive and compassionate.
The Patient Information Forum is the UK membership organisation and network for people working in health information and support. Find out more about the PIF TICK and the assessment we have undergone.
