Biography: Fee is a bladder and prostate cancer research nurse for the cancer TOUR team, led by Dr Mieke Van Hemelrijck and Dr Simon Choudhury. Fee leads a team of trial co-ordinators, research assistants and patient and public involvement co-ordinators. She is responsible for screening, recruiting and co-ordinating research visits for bladder and prostate cancer patients for the epidemiology studies currently funded under Kings College London, at Guy’s Hospital. Fee and the team are the highest recruiters to the King's Health Partners cancer biobank, across all tumour groups. Fee is a member of the King’s Health Partners urological cancer research network and comprehensive cancer centre.
Fee has over 15 years’ experience working with cancer patients, the last six years of which have been spent working in research.
Specialist interests: the cancer pathway experience and engagement of black minority ethnic prostate cancer patients.
Research interests: cohort and academic studies into bladder cancer and prostate cancer, setting up the Graham Roberts bladder cancer cohort study utilising the trials within cohorts (TWiCs) design to plan research interventions, implementing the Guy’s cancer cohort which uses routinely collected clinical data for research.
Awards: five-year contract with the Graham Roberts bladder cancer cohort study, 2016 BAUN Urology Nurse of the Year, 2016 BAUN Urology Team of the Year, successfully secured £10,000 from The Urology Foundation and with other colleagues, secured a further £25,000 from Prostate Cancer UK to fund a prostate exercise intervention study.
