Consultants


  • Professor Simon Redwood: Lead interventional consultant and President, British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS). Performs all interventional procedures, including intravascular ultrasound, physiological lesion assessment using pressure-sensor tipped wires, stent implantation, rotational atherectomy mitral and aortic valvuloplasty and Transcathether Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI).
  • Dr James Coutts: Cardiovascular clinical director. Diagnostic and interventional cardiology and has responsibilities for the critical care unit and general medicine.
  • Dr Brian Clapp: Clinical lead. Performs all interventional procedures, including intravascular ultrasound, physiological lesion assessment using pressure-sensor tipped wires, stent implantation, rotational atherectomy, radial intervention and aortic balloon valvuloplasty, closure of atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale and left atrial appendage occlusion.
  • Professor Divaka Perera: Performs all interventional procedures, including intravascular ultrasound, physiological lesion assessment using pressure-sensor tipped wires, stent implantation and rotational atherectomy.
