- Professor Simon Redwood: Lead interventional consultant and President, British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS). Performs all interventional procedures, including intravascular ultrasound, physiological lesion assessment using pressure-sensor tipped wires, stent implantation, rotational atherectomy mitral and aortic valvuloplasty and Transcathether Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI).
- Dr James Coutts: Cardiovascular clinical director. Diagnostic and interventional cardiology and has responsibilities for the critical care unit and general medicine.
- Dr Brian Clapp: Clinical lead. Performs all interventional procedures, including intravascular ultrasound, physiological lesion assessment using pressure-sensor tipped wires, stent implantation, rotational atherectomy, radial intervention and aortic balloon valvuloplasty, closure of atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale and left atrial appendage occlusion.
- Dr Kalpa De Silva: specialises in the management of coronary artery disease, looking after patients with chest pain, angina and those who have suffered heart attacks. He has specific interests in the invasive management of coronary disease including coronary angiography, complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with specific interests in high-risk PCI, intracoronary imaging and physiology-guided intervention and zero/low-contrast PCI.
Consultants from other hospitals also attend St Thomas' Hospital to perform interventional procedures.
