Radiation cystitis

The number of patients diagnosed with pelvic malignancy in the UK is approximately 82,500 per year. Of these approximately 12,000 undergo pelvic radiotherapy annually to treat cancers of the prostate, bladder, rectum and gynaecologic organs. Although radiotherapy allows for direct targeting of high-energy radiation to the tumour site, exposure to the bladder even when the bladder is not the target organ is unavoidable and may cause radiation cystitis (RC).

Radiology (children's)

Our children's radiology service provides imaging services such as x-rays and ultrasounds to help the diagnosis and treatment of inpatients and outpatients at Evelina London Children's Hospital and patients in the community.

Rapid access chest pain clinic

The rapid access chest pain clinic (RACPC) provides a specialist assessment service for people who present to their GP with symptoms that suggest new onset angina

Rapid access diagnostic clinic

The rapid access diagnostic clinic provides quick access to a range of diagnostic tests for patients whose symptoms are causing concern and who need a diagnosis so that a treatment plan can be put in place for them.

Reconstruction surgery

We are one of the largest plastic surgery departments in the UK. We provide clinics in both our hospitals and other local hospitals.

Refugee health services

Our community health inclusion team supports people who have difficulty accessing primary care services, e.g. homeless people, refugees, asylum seekers or people with addictions.

Renal cancer

Our urology department has a dedicated kidney clinic on Wednesday afternoons with specialist care provided by clinicians with a particualr interest in kidney tumours and complex surgical kidney problems.

Renal services

We are a regional centre for people with all forms of kidney disease in south east London, Kent and the surrounding areas. We offer treatment to patients with all stages of kidney disease.

Renal services (children's)

Our children's kidney service cares for babies, children and young people with a range of kidney conditions from south London, south east England and beyond.

Reproductive and sexual health

We hold sexual health clinics at Burrell Street in Southwark, London, and in the local community.

Respiratory medicine services

The department provides specialist respiratory services locally and at a regional level.

The children's respiratory service cares for children affected by breathing difficulties such as asthma and lung infections.
