Radiation cystitis

Description:
The number of patients diagnosed with pelvic malignancy in the UK is approximately 82,500 per year. Of these approximately 12,000 undergo pelvic radiotherapy annually to treat cancers of the prostate, bladder, rectum and gynaecologic organs. Although radiotherapy allows for direct targeting of high-energy radiation to the tumour site, exposure to the bladder even when the bladder is not the target organ is unavoidable and may cause radiation cystitis (RC).

The rapid access chest pain clinic (RACPC) provides a specialist assessment service for people who present to their GP with symptoms that suggest new onset angina

Rapid access diagnostic clinic

Description:
The rapid access diagnostic clinic provides quick access to a range of diagnostic tests for patients whose symptoms are causing concern and who need a diagnosis so that a treatment plan can be put in place for them.

Rare Diseases Centre

Description:
The Rare Diseases Centre at St Thomas' Hospital is a purpose-built unit, providing care for adults and children with rare, life-long genetic and skin conditions. The centre brings together several specialist services in one place.

Recurrent Prostate Cancer (RPC) clinic

Description:
Information about the Recurrent Prostate Cancer (RPC) clinic

Regional specialist rehabilitation service

Description:
The regional outpatient amputee rehabilitation service provides assessment and provision of prosthetic limbs for patients following upper or lower limb amputation or as a result of congenital deficiency (from birth). All patients and their families have access to our specialist counselling service.

Respiratory medicine services

Description:
The department provides specialist respiratory services locally and at a regional level.

Respiratory physiotherapy outpatient service

Description:
The respiratory physiotherapy outpatient service provides respiratory care and support to the residents of Lambeth and Southwark. The service provides assessment and treatment to optimise breathing, lung function and physical activity alongside advice and information on how to manage your condition and symptoms.

Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) clinic

Description:

Rett clinic

Description:
Our Rett clinic is a specialist multidisciplinary outpatient service for children with Rett syndrome.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) service

Description:
This clinic uses the skills of multiple health professionals to treat rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatology services

Description:
Our rheumatology department offers a wide range of rheumatology services to diagnose and treat joint, bone and connective tissue diseases.
